AK Steel adjusts surcharges, shares go up

AK Steel has advised its flat rolled and electrical steel customers that the company has altered their surcharges for these products. A surcharge of $214 /nt ($236 /mt or $10.70 cwt.) will now be added to all March invoices for flat rolled products, and a surcharge of $275 /nt ($303 /mt or $13.75 cwt.) will be added to March invoices for electrical steel products. AK's surcharges for February were $205 /nt ($226 /mt or $10.25 cwt.) for flat rolled and $280 /nt ($309 /mt or $14.75 cwt.) for electrical steel. AK shares rose 18 cents to $11.16 in morning trading on the New York Stock Exchange.
