Mexico’s integrated steelmaker Altos Hornos de Mexico (AHMSA) agreed to pay MXN 31.6 million ($1.60 million) in overdue union contributions to both a local union and the company’s workers, it announced late this weekend after a meeting with the company’s administration council.

According to AHMSA, it will pay overdue union contributions dating back from September 2008 to January 2017, plus interest, which will be distributed to 3,065 company workers.

The money will be paid back to only union-affiliated workers, and each worker should receive their overdue union contributions in an individual account.
