African Minerals achieves export target for 2013

London-listed, Africa-focused miner African Minerals has announced that in 2013 it shipped 12.2 million mt of iron ore, achieving its export guidance of 11-13 million mt for the given year.
 
During the fourth quarter, the company's iron ore sales amounted to 3.8 million mt, rising by 35.7 percent compared to the previous quarter. In December, the iron ore sales totaled 1.6 million mt.
 
African Minerals stated that it remains confident of achieving the 20 million mt per year run rate as the ramp-up continues in 2014.
