Acindar reports January-September period results

Argentinean long products steelmaker Acindar has announced a net income of Pesos 442.3 million for the first nine months of 2003 against a net loss of Pesos 476.5 million recorded in the same period last year. Company's sales were up by 27.3% in the first nine months of 2003 due to a sharp rise in domestic sales. Operating income reached to Pesos 327.2 million in the first nine months of 2003 compared to Pesos 121.1 million reported in the first nine months of 2002. According to market reports, Acindar is one of the few Argentine companies which obtained good results in the recent economic crisis.
