400,000 mt capacity iron ore dock completed at Dongjiakou, Qingdao

Construction of a 400,000 mt capacity iron ore dock at Dongjiakou deepwater port at Qingdao, Shandong Province, China was completed on October 4, 2010, with basic operations at the dock expected to start by the end of December this year.

The dock is the first with an annual handling capacity of 400,000 mt in China. It is 510 meters long, 40 meters wide, with a depth of 24.5 meters. Total investment in the construction of the dock was RMB 3.8 billion.
