200,000 mt ore berth at Dandong Port to start operating by the end of 2013

China's National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) has approved the application of 200,000 mt ore berth at Dadong dock of Dandong Port in Liaoning Province, Northeast China, as reported by China's state-owned Xinhua News Agency. The new ore berth is expected to start operating by the end of 2013.

As the international port in the most north part of China, Dandong Port has Dadong and Langtou docks. Of the total 28 berths, two berths of 100,000 mt are for ore. In the first eight months of this year, throughput of Dandong Port totaled 60.2 million mt, up 28.3 percent year on year.
