Kurum Steel Company, a member of Kürüm Group of Companies, established in 1975, is a leading hot rolled deformed steel bars producer in Turkey. The headquarters of the group and the hot rolled deformed steel bars production plant is in Gebze, a small industrial town 50 km far from Istanbul city centre. At Gebze Plant the company employs 225 workers and technicians, 25 managerial staff 6 of whom are engineers. The plant has production facilities within some 14.500 sqm of covered halls and 22.000 sqm of open area equipped with heavy cranes for storage and loading the trucks for delivery, total area 36.500 sqm. The Gebze Plant production capacity is 200.000 metric tons per year. The plant is producing re-bars starting from dia 8mm up to dia 25mm. The company started to operate a melt shop and hot rolled deformed steel bars production plant in Albania which is the biggest production line in the Balkan states; employing 1.650 workers, technicians and managerial staff. The capacity is increased to 200.000 tons/year.
