The seamless pipe market in Iran is currently characterized by very limited demand and low transaction levels. Nevertheless, the prices of domestic production seamless pipes have remained at their levels of one month ago, while Iranian traders have reduced their offers by $50-70/mt over the same period. In the past month, import offers of Ukrainian material have decreased by a maximum of $10/mt, while quotations of seamless pipes from China have declined by $30/mt. Import offers of Russian material have remained stable during the period in question. Many traders in Iran are adopting a wait-and-see approach to the market. The limited seamless pipe demand in the Iranian market is expected to continue to influence the market in the coming weeks, and so market sentiment is not optimistic for the short-term period.
Current domestic prices for Iranian seamless pipes, 2"-4" grade B made to API 5L, have remained in the range of $1,000-1,050/mt ex-works.
Stockists' quotations of Iranian 1"-3" seamless pipes, grade B made to API 5L, are in the range of $1,650-1,690/mt.
Import offers of Chinese seamless pipes, 2"-6", grade B made to ASTM A106/API 5L, are being given to the local Iranian market at $620-670/mt CFR Bandar Abbas.
Quotations of Ukrainian seamless pipes of 2"-6" size, grade B as per ASTM A106, have been at about $1,000-1,040/mt CFR.
Russian pipes of 2"-6", grade B as per ASTM A106 or GOST, are being offered to northern Iranian ports at $1,030-1,060/mt CFR.
