The Spanish domestic seamless pipe market has remained very sluggish over the past month, as lack of investment continues to stifle construction activity in the region. However, domestic and export quotations of Spanish seamless pipes have mostly remained stable over the past month in euro terms, whereas on dollar basis prices have added around $15-16/mt due to the weakness of the dollar. Prices offered from China have decreased by €20-40/mt ($26-52/mt) over the past month, while quotations of Ukrainian material have declined by €20-50/mt ($26-66/mt). Import offers of Italian seamless pipes have remained unchanged over the period under review in euro terms, but have increased by around $17/mt in dollar terms. The Spanish seamless pipe market is also expected to remain sluggish in the coming period, depressed by dull demand in both domestic and foreign markets because of slow consumer activity.
Current Spanish domestic prices for 2"-4" hot-formed seamless pipes, grade B made to ASTM A106, are at around €1,000-1,020/mt ($1,310-1,336/mt) ex-works, while 6"-10" pipes are at €1,050-1,100/mt ($1,376-1,441/mt) ex-works.
Current export prices of Spanish seamless pipes, 2"-4" grade B according to ASTM A106, are varying at around €1,030-1,050/mt ($1,349-1,376/mt) FOB, while 6"-10" seamless pipes are at €1,080-1,130/mt ($1,415-1,480/mt) FOB.
Prices for Chinese seamless pipes, 2"-6" grade B made to ASTM A106/API 5L, are at about €740-800/mt ($969-1,048/mt) CFR Spain, exclusive of antidumping duties (in the range of 17.7-39.2 percent depending on the producer).
Offers of April production Ukrainian seamless pipes with 42-168 mm diameter of 10, 20 steel grade made to GOST or EN are being given to Spain at €780-800/mt ($1,021-1,048/mt) CPT. Prices are shown exclusive of 12.3-13.8 percent antidumping duty.
Quotations of Italian seamless pipes, 8"-10" grade B made to ASTM A106, to Spain are at €1,130-1,180/mt ($1,475-1,540/mt) CPT.
