The Polish welded pipe market is still characterized by sluggishness due to traditional summer market slowdown. Domestic prices for welded pipes in Poland have declined by €15-20/mt ($16-22/mt) over the past month under pressure from declining raw material prices and slow trading, while prices on US dollar basis have decreased by $22-27/mt in the same period due to the fluctuation of the exchange rate. Import offers of Italian and Bulgarian welded pipes have decreased by a maximum of €10/mt ($11/mt) over the period under review. Meanwhile, demand in the Polish market for welded pipes is not expected to strengthen substantially in the coming month amid low demand from consuming industries in summer.
Current domestic offers of square and rectangular hollow sections with 2-4 mm wall thickness made from S235 JRH grade hot rolled coil (HRC) according to EN 10219 are in the range of €485-500/mt ($529-545/mt) ex-works, exclusive of 23 percent VAT.
Quotations of Italian black welded pipes of 2"-6" size with wall thickness of 2.0-4.0 mm as per EN 10219 made from S235JR grade HRC to the Polish market are at levels of €540-570/mt ($589-621/mt) CPT on actual weight basis.
Offers of Bulgarian ERW pipes and hollow sections of 2-5 mm wall thickness made from S235JR grade HRC as per EN 10219 to Polish customers are standing at an average of €490-500/mt ($534-545/mt) CPT on theoretical weight basis.
