Local Chinese steel pipe prices have either moved sideways or up slightly during the past week.

Chinese domestic seamless pipe prices have been stable or have risen by a small margin during the past seven days. Overall trading activity has been weak, while raw material prices have softened lately, which has exerted some pressure on seamless pipe prices. Most traders have been willing to offer some discounts in order to close more deals. As for the week ahead, it is believed that seamless pipe prices may move down by a small margin as the support from costs weakens.

Local Chinese welded pipe prices have been mostly stable during the past week, with some minor upticks also seen. Overall trading activity has been slack due to the off-season and the effects of the typhoons in certain areas. Supply has fallen slightly and upstream steel strip prices have softened. As for the week ahead, it is believed that welded pipe prices may move down.
