Local Chinese steel pipe prices have continued a mostly upward trend during the past week.

Local Chinese seamless pipe prices have continued their upward trend during the past seven days but increase margins are smaller than in the previous week due to recent reductions in raw material prices. Overall trading activity has increased and is at normal levels. The downstream side has mostly recovered, causing demand to increase. As for the week ahead, considering the fluctuation of raw material prices, it is believed that seamless pipe prices may indicate minor fluctuations.

Chinese domestic welded pipe prices have followed a mostly upward trend during the past week. Prices of steel strip and other raw materials first increased in the past week but then declined, causing minor downticks in some prices. Demand has increased and production volumes are down slightly in certain areas due to environmental measures. As for the week ahead, it is believed that welded pipe prices may indicate fluctuations.
