Local Chinese seamless pipe prices have mainly been stable in the past week, though with slight price increases seen in certain regional markets. Overall trading activity has improved a little, but most traders have chosen to keep their prices stable in order to close more deals. Prices of billet and other raw materials have showed an upward trend, providing support for seamless pipe prices. As for the week ahead, it is believed that local seamless pipe prices may move sideways or rise slightly.

Chinese domestic welded pipe prices have indicated an upward trend during the past week. Upstream steel strip prices have risen strongly, providing the main support for the rises in welded pipe prices. Downstream demand has increased slightly due to the increase in construction activity during the current period. As for the week ahead, with raw material prices at high levels, it is believed that local welded pipe prices may continue their upward trend.
