Local Chinese steel pipe prices have mostly moved upwards during the past week.

Chinese domestic seamless pipe prices have mostly followed a rising trend during the past seven days, while overall trading activity has been slack due to the hot and rainy weather conditions. Upstream billet prices and other raw material prices have indicated a strong upward trend, causing most seamless pipe traders to follow suit despite the weakness of demand. As for the week ahead, it is believed that domestic seamless pipe prices may indicate some slight upticks.

Local Chinese welded pipe prices have followed an upward trend during the past week supported by higher prices of steel strip and other raw materials, while trading activity has been at low levels. As for the week ahead, it is believed that local welded pipe prices will just indicate minor fluctuations.
