Local Chinese steel pipe prices have just indicated small changes during the past week.
Local Chinese seamless pipe prices have continued to move up by small margins during the past seven days. Overall trading activity has been at normal levels. Upstream billet prices have softened lately but most seamless pipe traders have chosen to raise their quoted prices slightly on the back of low inventory levels and some improvement in demand. As for the week ahead, it is thought that seamless pipe prices could move down a little as support from the cost side is getting weaker.
Local Chinese welded pipe prices have followed a slightly soft trend during the past week, amid downticks in prices of steel strip and raw materials. Overall trading activity has been at normal levels. As for the week ahead, it is believed that welded pipe prices may continue their slightly soft trend.
