Local Chinese steel pipe prices have softened during the past week.

Chinese domestic seamless pipe prices have moved down during the past seven days. Overall trading activity is still weak due to the off-season and coronavirus measures in certain areas. Supply has risen slightly, as has market inventory. Traders are mostly pessimistic and are willing to offer certain discounts in order to close more deals. As for the week ahead, it is believed that seamless pipe prices may soften further.

Local Chinese welded pipe prices have started to indicate some decreases lately as prices of steel strip and other raw materials moved down. Overall trading activity has been low due to coronavirus measures. As for the week ahead, amid weak demand and declines in raw material prices, it is believed that welded pipe prices may indicate minor declines.
