Local Chinese steel pipe prices fluctuate slightly 

Local Chinese steel pipe prices have mostly fluctuated slightly during the past week, with welded pipe prices moving up by a small margin. 

Chinese seamless pipe market prices have fluctuated by small margins during the past week. Overall trading activity has improved and is currently at normal levels. Traders have mostly returned to work but downstream construction activity is still recovering. Certain traders under pressure from high inventories have reduced their quoted prices by a small margin in order to close more deals. As for the week ahead, since most traders hold a negative view, it is believed that domestic seamless pipe prices may follow a slight downtrend.  

Local Chinese welded pipe prices have mostly indicated a slight upward trend during the past week, principally supported by overall trading activity which has increased and is now at normal levels. Upstream steel strip prices have risen by a small margin, which has also supported welded pipe prices. However, since inventories are still at high levels, the increase margin has been small. As for the week ahead, it is believed that domestic welded pipe prices may indicate further small increases.
