Local Chinese steel pipe prices have continued their downward trend during the past week.

Chinese seamless pipe prices have declined during the past seven days. Overall trading activity has been weak due to the off-season and hot weather. Certain producers have chosen to reduce production volumes since profits are low. Traders have mostly been willing to reduce their quoted prices in order to close more deals. As for the week ahead, it is believed that seamless pipe prices may continue their downward trend.

Chinese welded pipe prices have continued to soften during the past week. Prices of steel strips and other raw material have moved down, causing most welded pipe prices to follow. Overall trading activity has been weak due to the off season. Most traders hold a negative outlook and have reduced their quoted prices. As for the week ahead, it is believed that welded pipe prices will continue to decrease.
