Chinese steel pipe prices have continued a slight soft trend during the past week.

Chinese seamless pipe prices have continued to decline during the past seven days amid softer billet prices. Overall trading activity has improved slightly but it still weak due to the off-season. Lately, some rebounds in finished steel and raw material prices have started to provide some support for seamless pipe prices. As for the week ahead, considering the weakness of the demand side, it is believed that seamless pipe prices may indicate minor fluctuations.

Chinese domestic welded pipe prices first declined in the past week but then rebounded on the back of recovering steel strip prices, but are still lower week on week. Overall trading activity has been weak. Traders mostly hold low inventories in order to avoid risks. As for the week ahead, it is believed that welded pipe prices may resume a fluctuating trend.
