Local Chinese steel pipe prices have maintained an upward trend during the past week.

Chinese seamless pipe prices have continued their upward trend during the past week, following the upward trend of billet prices. Overall trading activity has been at normal levels. Demand has recovered, which also gives support to seamless pipe prices. As for the week ahead, considering that the support from the upstream side is still strong, it is believed that seamless pipe prices may follow a slight uptrend again.

Chinese welded pipe prices have maintained their rising trend during the past seven days, supported by increasing prices of steel strip and other raw materials. Demand has almost recovered and trading activity has increased. But certain areas have been influenced by restrictions of production volumes, which influenced both the supply and demand sides. As for the week ahead, it is believed that welded pipe prices may follow a slight uptrend.
