SteelOrbis has been informed that orders in the local European welded pipe market for September and October output have been completed, while mills will soon start to receive orders for November output. With August almost being over, it is observed that European welded pipe producers have returned to the market as their maintenance works in plants have been completed. Having been expected to gain on to the European Union’s (EU) quota for import steel following the September-October period, buyers in the EU may not order large tonnages of import welded pipe, and so domestic welded pipe sales of local mills may accelerate. Under the current circumstances, the most recent data from the European Commission indicates that EU countries have imported a total of 32,500 mt welded pipe and 52,900 mt hollow structural section since July 19.
A Bulgarian steel producer’s offers to European market for ERW pipes as per EN 10219 have remained stable over the past two weeks at €610-650/metre ($714-761/metre) CPT; with offers to Hungary and Poland being at €620-630/metre ($725-737/metre) CPT, with other offers to the Czech Republic and Austria being at €630-640/metre ($737-749/metre) CPT, while its offers to Germany and Romania are at €640-650/metre ($749-761/metre) CPT and €610-620/metre ($714-725/metre) CPT respectively.
