Demand remains extremely sluggish in the Spanish seamless pipe market against a background of high stock levels. Domestic quotations of Spanish production seamless pipes have remained more or less unchanged over the past month, though in some cases quotations have decreased by €10-20/mt compared to November prices. In the import segment, offer prices of Chinese and Italian seamless pipes have not changed during the past month. At the same time, suppliers of Ukrainian material have increased their quotations by €15-40/mt during the period in question. Spain has made great economic progress in recent decades, but it still lags behind most of Western Europe. In December the seamless pipe market in Spain promises to be quiet due to the approach of the Christmas and New Year holidays. However, in January seamless pipe producers will try to increase their prices and to start the New Year with new hopes for a recovery.

Current domestic prices for 2"-5" hot-formed seamless pipes grade B made to ASTM A106/API 5L are at around €850-880/mt ex-works, while 6"-8" pipes are at about €970-1,000/mt ex-works.

Prices for Chinese seamless pipes, 2"-6" grade B made to ASTM A106/API 5L, are about €510-530/mt C&F, exclusive of antidumping duties (in the range of 17.7-39.2 percent depending on the producer).

Offers of Ukrainian seamless pipes, 2"-6" grade B made to ASTM A106/API 5L, are at €670-690/mt DDU, while offers of 8"-12" pipes are at €740-750/mt DDU. These prices are exclusive of 25.1 percent antidumping duty.

Quotations of Italian seamless pipes, 2"-5" grade B made to ASTM A106/API 5L, to Spain are at €920-950/mt CPT.
