During the week ending December 15, average Chinese steel pipe export offer prices have remained stable. At present, export offers for welded pipe given by Chinese suppliers are in the range of $780-800/mt FOB, moving sideways week on week, while export offers for API 5L seamless pipe given by Chinese suppliers are at $820-850/mt FOB, March shipment, remaining stable compared to December 8.

During the given week, steel pipe prices have remained stable amid environmental protection measures affecting transportations in some regions. Rebar futures prices have edged up slightly, bolstering steel pipe prices to some extent. It is expected that steel pipe prices in the Chinese domestic market will move sideways in the coming week.
Rebar futures prices at Shanghai Futures Exchange (SHFE) stand at RMB 4,441/mt ($697/mt) on December 15, up by RMB 91/mt ($14.3/mt), or 2.1 percent compared to that recorded on December 8, while up 1.07 percent compared to the previous trading day, December 14.
