During the given week, the US Department of Commerce announced that the antidumping duty of 99.14 percent on imports of ex-China OCTG will continue to be imposed. In the local market, demand for steel pipe has been slack, and so traders have mostly adopted a wait-and-see stance. However, ferrous metal futures prices in China have moved up, bolstering the steel pipe market.
Rebar futures prices at Shanghai Futures Exchange (SHFE) stand at RMB 3,832/mt ($549.4/mt) on August 5, up RMB 66/mt ($9.5/mt) or 1.75 percent from July 29.
