Chinese steel pipe export offer prices move sideways

During the week ending February 12, average Chinese steel pipe export offer prices have moved sideways. At present, export offers for API 5L seamless pipe given by Chinese suppliers are in the range of $595-680/mt FOB, while export offers for API 5L welded pipe given by Chinese suppliers are at $510-530/mt FOB, March shipment.

During the given week, demand for steel pipe has been slack due to the outbreak of the coronavirus

Most market players have started to give offer prices, while some downstream users have not resumed production yet.

Rebar futures prices at Shanghai Futures Exchange (SHFE) stand at RMB 3,404/mt ($488/mt) on February 12, up RMB 107/mt ($15.3/mt) from February 5.
