During the given week, transaction activities for steel pipe in southern China have been better than in northern China, while demand ahead of the long National Day holiday (October 1-8) has not been as good as what market players had expected. Traders are cautious as regards the prospects for the market after the long holiday, and this will negatively affect steel pipe prices.
Rebar futures prices at Shanghai Futures Exchange (SHFE) stand at RMB 3,560/mt ($523/mt) on September 30, up RMB 18/mt ($3/mt) or 0.5 percent from September 23.
