During the given week, inventory of steel pipe in the local market has been at relatively reasonable levels, which has exerted a positive impact on the steel pipe market. However, on May 5, Columbia decided to launch an antidumping investigation regarding China-origin seamless and welded steel tubes for oil and gas pipelines, which will negatively affect Chinese steel pipe exports in the future.
Rebar futures prices at Shanghai Futures Exchange (SHFE) stand at RMB 3,464/mt ($489/mt) on May 13, up RMB 72/mt ($10.2/mt) or 2.73 percent from May 6.
