Upward revision in Turkish mills domestic scrap purchase quotations

Tuesday, 03 November 2020 15:50:57 (GMT+3)   |   Istanbul

Most Turkish mills have raised their domestic scrap purchase quotations by TRY 70-225/mt as compared to SteelOrbis’ report published on October 28. The upward revision is the result of the sharp depreciation of the Turkish lira against the US dollar and the dollar equivalents of the prices have increased by 1-20$/mt. The mills that decided to keep their domestic scrap purchase quotations stable has caused dollar-based prices to fall $6/mt.

As a result, the benchmark DKP grade scrap prices in Turkey are in the range of TRY 2,150-2,455/mt or $253-289/mt.
