Upper end of Turkish ship scrap prices hits $422/mt

One of Izmir-based mills Turkish has raised its ship scrap purchase prices today, May 4, by $30/mt to $422/mt, setting the new upper end for the local ship scrap purchase price range. The general range of prices in the Turkish ship scrap market is now at $385-422/mt as other local producers have kept their purchase quotations unchanged. The recent sharp upward revisions in Turkey’s ship scrap prices are the result of the increase observed in the local and import scrap markets.
