Two more mills have followed the uptrend observed in the local Turkish scrap market in the current week, increasing their prices by TRY 40-50/mt or $6-8/mt today, June 4. As a result, the premium DKP scrap purchase quotation in the market is now in the range of TRY 1,620-1,975/mt, which equals $240-292/mt.

The dollar-based quotations of other mills that kept their prices stable have not changed as the Turkish lira has recovered some strength against the US dollar.

Market sources state that domestic scrap demand is lively nowadays. Additionally, SteelOrbis has learned that suppliers are seeking to raise their prices in accordance with the positive mood in the scrap markets.
