Turkish producers’ ex-US scrap bookings gain momentum

According to market sources, four Turkish scrap producers have concluded deals for scrap from the US. One of the producers has booked 22,000 mt of HMS I/II 80:20 scrap at $201/mt CFR, 15,000 mt of shredded scrap at $206/mt CFR and 3,000 mt of bonus grade scrap at $211/mt CFR.

Another Turkish producer has concluded an ex-US scrap deal for 20,000 mt of HMS I/II 80:20 scrap at $198/mt CFR and 20,000 mt of shredded scrap at $203/mt CFR, with an optional 5,000 mt of bonus grade scrap at $208/mt CFR.

Meanwhile, the same US scrap supplier has sold a cargo to a Turkish producer, consisting of 23,000 mt of HMS I/II 80:20 scrap at $202/mt CFR (with approximately $3/mt added to the price of this material due to shipment from Houston) and 22,000 mt of bonus and busheling scrap at an average price of $209/mt CFR. 
 
Lastly, from the same supplier a Turkish producer has bought HMS I/II80:20 scrap at $200/mt CFR and shredded scrap at $205/mt CFR.
