There have been very few import scrap deals concluded in Turkey this week, while the number of Turkish steel mills’ short sea scrap purchases has also declined significantly. In the most recent ex-Romania deal in Turkey, the price level of A3 grade scrap was at $318/mt CFR Marmara. It is observed that Russian suppliers have failed to adapt to the sharp declines recorded in scrap prices and are seen to be trying to maintain their price levels, which are very high compared to Romanian scrap suppliers’ prices.
