After the conclusion of some scrap deals last week to Turkey, certain deep sea scrap suppliers have tried to push up their prices, but these attempts have failed to gain the acceptance of Turkish steel mills.
Having last week concluded ex-US scrap deals for HMS I/II 80:20 at the price level of $365-369/mt CFR, some suppliers have also tried to test $370-375/mt CFR price levels for the same qualities. However, according to SteelOrbis' sources, Turkish mills are not interested in offers above $365/mt CFR.
As for ex-Europe scrap transactions, the latest deal has been concluded at $356/mt CFR for HMS I/II 80:20.
Meanwhile, turning towards the Black Sea, the latest ex-Romania A3 scrap deals in Turkey have been at $355-357/mt CFR. As of today, October 2, scrap collection prices in Romania are standing at $320-330/mt. In the meantime, some suppliers have announced lower levels for scrap collection prices.
