Turkish scrap market maintains bullish tone

Turkey’s import scrap market has maintained its uptrend. The rise, as compared to SteelOrbis’ previous report published on April 30, was TRY 200-1,500/mt. However, the depreciation of the Turkish lira against the US dollar has caused the lower end of the price increases to result in dollar-based prices dropping by $1-7/mt, while the remaining prices moved sideways or increased by $2-21/mt. The general range in the local Turkish scrap market for the benchmark DKP grade scrap has increased at the lower end to TRY 15,700-18,600/mt. Due to the fluctuations observed in the exchange rate, the dollar-based quotations have changed from $327-417/mt to $343-407/mt.
