Turkish mills raise their local scrap purchase prices

Turkish mills are showing increased interest in local scrap. As a result, they have increased their domestic scrap procurement prices by TRY 175-850/mt or $2-19/mt since SteelOrbis’ report published on May 9.

As a result, the general range in the local Turkish scrap market for the benchmark DKP grade scrap has moved up from TRY 12,150-13,230/mt to TRY 12,700-13,700/mt. The dollar-based quotations have moved up from $314-342/mt to $325-351/mt.
