Turkish mills raise their domestic scrap purchase prices

Friday, 07 November 2025 17:58:36 (GMT+3)   |   Istanbul
With Turkish mills increasing their domestic scrap purchase prices over the past two weeks, the general price range in Turkey’s domestic scrap market has moved up. The rise was TRY 100-300/mt or $0-5/mt in this period, while the stable lira-based prices resulted in a $2/mt drop in dollar-based prices. Meanwhile, Turkey has also increased its import scrap and ship scrap purchase prices. Turkish mills’ efforts to secure scrap in line with their needs is reflected in higher prices, while their strict stock management policy also supports the rise in prices.
The general range in the local Turkish scrap market for the benchmark DKP grade scrap has moved up from TRY 13,300-14,600/mt to TRY 13,950-15,550/mt. Due to the fluctuations observed in the exchange rate, the dollar-based quotations have moved up from $317-348/mt to $330-368/mt.
