Turkish mills push up their domestic scrap purchase prices

Monday, 23 November 2020 16:18:39 (GMT+3)   |   Istanbul

Today, November 23, most Turkish mills have increased their domestic scrap purchase prices by TRY 50-160/mt or $6-21/mt as compared to the levels on November 17, while other producers’ decision to keep their prices on lira basis stable has resulted in a sideways movement of their dollar-based prices. The increases announced today are in line with the rising trend observed in the deep sea scrap segment and have been made to maintain the flow of scrap.

However, the changes made in the local Turkish scrap market have made no difference to the general range of benchmark DKP grade scrap quotations which is still in the range of TRY 2,240-2,570/mt or $288-331/mt.
