Turkish mills increase domestic scrap purchase quotations

It is observed that most Turkish mills have increased their domestic scrap purchase quotation amid the sharp depreciation of the Turkish lira against the US dollar. Despite the increases announced on lira basis by TRY 40-120/mt as compared to SteelOrbis’ report published on October 21, the dollar equivalents of the prices have mostly declined by 2-10$/mt with one exceptional sideways movement. The mills that decided to keep their domestic scrap purchase quotations stable has caused dollar-based prices to fall $12-16/mt.

As a result, the benchmark DKP grade scrap prices in Turkey are in the range of TRY 2,050-2,380/mt or $247-287/mt.
