Turkish mills’ domestic scrap purchase prices remain stable

Friday, 27 February 2026 16:50:01 (GMT+3)   |   Istanbul

Amid the slightly soft-to-stable trend observed in the import scrap segment, Turkish mills have mostly kept their local scrap quotations unchanged since SteelOrbis’ report published on January 30. Only one producer has announced a decline in its prices this week, with a drop of TRY 100/mt or $4/mt. There was a decline of $1-2/mt in the dollar-based scrap purchase prices of the mills that kept their Turkish lira-based quotations stable, given the depreciation of the Turkish lira.

The general range in the local Turkish scrap market for the benchmark DKP grade scrap has remained at TRY 14,600-17,050/mt. Due to the fluctuations observed in the exchange rate, the dollar-based purchase prices have moved from $336-392/mt to $332-388/mt.
