Turkish mills continue to raise local scrap purchase prices

Monday, 28 October 2019 12:34:53 (GMT+3)   |   Istanbul

Turkish steel producers have as expected continued to follow the general uptrend in the scrap segment. As a result, some mills have increased their domestic purchasing prices, this time by TRY 30-90/mt depending on the company and the scrap grade, which has led to a $6-16/mt rise on US dollar basis. Market players generally believe that domestic scrap prices will continue to strengthen if the uptrend in the import segment continues.
