Turkish mills continue cutting ship scrap prices

As compared to April 28, Izmir-based Turkish mills have cut their ship scrap procurement prices by $10-20/mt as of May 2. The general price range is now at $405-426/mt as compared to the previous range of $425-436/mt, both for delivery to mill by truck. Despite the softening recorded at the end of last week and the sharper decrease seen today, May 2, Turkey’s ship scrap market has room to decline further.

In Turkey’s Izmir region, the ship scrap purchase prices of local steelmakers are as follows:
