Turkish mill Kroman has announced a decrease in its domestic scrap procurement prices today, August 25, by TRY 30/mt. Amid the appreciation of the Turkish lira against the US dollar, the dollar equations of the prices have remained stable for extra grades, while it increased by $1/mt for benchmark DKP grade.
Despite Kroman’s announcement, the general range in the local Turkish scrap market for the benchmark DKP grade scrap has remained at TRY 3,600-4,305/mt, while the dollar-based quotations moved from $425-508/mt to $429-513/mt.
