Turkish domestic scrap prices decline as expected

Friday, 24 January 2020 12:16:44 (GMT+3)   |   Istanbul

Some of the key steel producers in Turkey have further decreased their domestic scrap purchase prices compared to the levels seen early this week. The main reason for downward adjustment is the negative sentiment in the import scrap segment. As a result, local scrap purchase prices in Turkey have decreased by another TRY 10-50/mt or $2-9/mt depending on the buyer and the scrap grade. Sources expect the mills’ prices to soften further if the downtrend in the import sector continues.
