Turkish domestic scrap market remains stable

Friday, 19 December 2025 17:59:51 (GMT+3)   |   Istanbul

Some Turkish mills have increased their local scrap procurement prices over the past week by TRY 200-350/mt or $2-6/mt. Stable prices on Turkish lira basis have been matched by a drop of $2/mt in dollar prices due to the ongoing depreciation of the Turkish lira against the US dollar. The stability of the import scrap segment is reflected in the domestic scrap market, sources report.

The general range in the local Turkish scrap market for the benchmark DKP grade scrap has remained stable at TRY 13,900-15,800/mt. Due to the fluctuations observed in the exchange rate, the dollar-based quotations have changed from $327-372/mt to $325-369/mt.
