Turkey’s ship scrap purchase prices move up as anticipated

Having remained stable since October 9, Turkey’s ship scrap purchase prices have moved up today, November 11, after almost a month, as anticipated by market players due to the significant price rise observed in the deep sea scrap segment.

Steelmakers in Turkey’s Izmir region have increased their quotations by $13-15/mt, except for Cebitas which has made no announcement as of the time of publication. As a result, the general ship scrap purchase price range now stands at $275-295/mt, with Cebitas representing the lower end. Before today’s revisions, prices were in the range of $275-280/mt.
