Turkey’s ship scrap procurement prices have moved up by $5-10/mt, with the general range settled at $320-340/mt. The upward revision has been announced by the Izmir-based producer that is largely working with the local scrap supply instead of imports. For the short term, ship scrap prices are expected to remain stable on the upper end, there can be slight increases announced by the mills that represent the lower end to maintain ship scrap flow to their yards.

In Turkey’s Izmir region, the ship scrap purchase prices of local steelmakers are as follows:

Producer   Price ($/mt) Price change ($/mt)
Özkan Demir Çelik 340 +10
Habaş  320 0
Ege Çelik  335 +5
İDÇ  335 0

All the above prices are for delivery to mill by truck.
