Four out of five Izmir-based Turkish mills have raised their ship scrap purchase prices further since SteelOrbis’ report published on May 17, with the revisions in the range of $20-75/mt due to Ozkan Demir Celik’s move to adjust its price in line with the market. This has caused the general price range to increase from $400-460/mt to $450-480/mt. Since the beginning of May, producers in Izmir have raised their ship scrap purchase prices by $60-88/mt, depending on the mill.
