Turkey’s ship scrap prices continue to move up

Today, December 24, producers in Turkey’s Izmir region have raised their ship scrap purchase quotations by $5-15/mt. As a result, ship scrap prices have increased to $440-445/mt. Ship scrap quotations in Turkey are expected to move in line with the deep sea segment, which has risen to $473/mt CFR by an ex-US deal disclosed to the market today. The scrap flow from Aliaga - is stable, market sources state.

In Turkey's Izmir region, the ship scrap purchase prices of local steelmakers are as follows:
