Turkey’s ship scrap market moves up further

One Izmir-based Turkish mill has increased its ship scrap purchase prices further today, May 7, by $9/mt. The other local producers have kept their quotations unchanged, and prices in the Turkish ship scrap market are now in the range of $390-445/mt. Since the beginning of May, four out of five mills in the region have increased their prices by $25-44/mt in total, while Ozkan Demir Celik has kept its prices stable since its upward revision announced on April 5.

In Turkey's Izmir region, the ship scrap purchase prices of local steelmakers are as follows:
