Turkey’s ship scrap market moves down to $395-401/mt

Today, May 5, two Izmir-based Turkish mills have reduced their ship scrap procurement prices further by $5/mt. The general price range is now at $395-401/mt for delivery to mill by truck, down $4/mt on the upper end. Although ship scrap prices have already declined by $25-35/mt depending on the mill, quotations may be cut further in the coming week.

In Turkey’s Izmir region, the ship scrap purchase prices of local steelmakers are as follows:
